A letter to the future...

Today I somehow managed to watch 60 minutes for the first time in I don't know how long.

on it they were discussing the pact suicide of the two highschool girls.

One of the parents said something quite profound that I guess was inspiration for this, he said "No parent would like to consider their children suicidal."

which i guess got me thinking, I'm not a parent and I don't assume that I have the knowledge and experience to tell other parents how to raise their kids, but if i were to ever be a parent I'll tell myself these few things.

1. Not expressing how much you love your kids is as good as not loving them at all, If you love them letter them know, because you've never know when they need to be loved the most until its too late.

2. Family respect is a two way thing, God says children obey your parents and he says father's don't provoke your children. As a father Your a leader, the onus is on you to teach them, if you show them how to respect then they will respect you.

3. Your not the wisest guru of everything, you can be wrong on occassions. Humility to your children does not disapear when you become a father.

4. Raising your children in character and studies, is more important then studies. Having faith that God will take care of them if they are walking in him is one big leap of faith for you.

5. A family that Prays together stays together.

6. Its still about relationships.

7. All in all, be God honouring as a father.

8. Pride comes before fall, this is universal.

9. If you make a promise to your children, keep it.

10. Don't use double standard hypocrisies

Poem of time.

A poem of time by Solomon

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to get, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to rend, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time of war and a time of peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Devotions

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the field shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:

Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.

A prayer of habakukk - 3:17-19.

Devotion Challenge.

One of the biggest grounding things was when I read a non-christian's question saying

"How can you preach to me this faith from a book most of you haven't even finished?" or something along that lines. And that struck a chord. If we really were going to share someone the Gospel, we haven't even finish it in its entirety.

My personal Goal is to get through the bible.

I've read the new testiment and I have 25 Old testiment books to go.

I hope to complete this in 2 months~

The Orchaestra of Hearts

LoL, today I used a metallica in church today. Rofl. I've never thought I'd see the day where a heavy metal band would be useful for church.

Anyway today in worship I was just listening to everyone and then I was thinking about how worship was out of the heart and how each heart has a voice. Stuff about how different people respond to the spirit and have their own ways of expression, and i thought about how each person has a different personal reason in why they Love God due to them living individual lives.

And then it hit me, in one my random flashes of brilliance.
Orchaestra of hearts.

I shall explain step by step in the most comprehensible way i know how.

I believe that worship has always been about the heart, and they way I like to think about it is when you are in worship of God, your heart is singing a song/making a sound. And the state of your heart is what God hears, not the words or the tune that your physical body is seeing or hearing. if this is the case, true worship has to come from the heart, and its not about the physical states/actions that you are in that will honour God.

I also believe true worship must come from the heart, not you sing first then your heart falls into place. This is why i'm not a big supporter of the mentality of atmosphere to get people to worship God, to me that is propaganda. But whether you agree with me or not is completely up to you.

Worship coming from the heart, also means that no one can judge your worship by your physical actions, only you and God know whether your worship is real and authentic. God hears your heart. So no amount of physical can be used as a measuring stick for your worship. Physical actions is an overflow from the heart, but can be easily synthetic and therefore a weak measure of worship.

In summary of this, each heart is producing a sound that is determined on your standing with God. Only God can hear that sound, whether it is intune with his Frequency or not.

Being intune with God's frequency. My tuner uses the frequency 440 hertz for standardized notes. All western music has complied with this tuning (I could be wrong) and its like the standard, so all A's in tune sound like all other A's.
B's etc etc.

Being intune with God has nothing to do your physical actions. But rather the state of your heart after him, your willingness to submit and to obey him, your attitudes towards him as your God and definately your love for him.
Most instruments will go out of tune eventually, and will need to be tuned back. That's normal. How does that relate to life?

As we go through life our hearts play a song. Through the daily grind of everything, we go out of tune and need to be brought back into tune to God's frequency. If we don't we sound horrible to God. Kinda like dickson playing his crappy fender squire out of tune for worship. It sounds horrible. And its a sound that God can hear.

But when our hearts are in tune, he hears a wonderful sound.

now to explain the Orchaestra of hearts.. Finally..

The Orchaestra of hearts was something i thought off listening to the people around me worship God.
I thought what would God hear?

Each heart is different and unique.. like a orchaestra has many different instruments.

Then METALLICA HIT ME.

Last year me and my friend mish watched Metallica SnM. If you don't know what that is basically metallica is a heavy metal band that are so Good me and my friend were like *jaw drop* And they teamed up with San fransico symphony Orchaestra. And they joined together to play a lot of metallica pieces. So its like Heavy metal + Classical music. and i have to say, it sounds absolutely brilliant. the sound they made was so full and so nice to listen to.
THere were old people classical music fans and heavy metal die hards there thinking it was awesome.

and its just like that with the orchaestra of hearts. our hearts are all making a sound, and because we have so many hearts and so many different types of sound as explained before, God hears his awesome fantastic sound. So many different hearts adding to the fullness of this.

but that doesn't mean you can hide in the crowd.
We were watching the making of Metallica SnM. And there was this one scene that where the orchaestra was getting ready for their rehersal. And after they played something, the conductor was like "One person is out of tune by half a step". all the metallica band members were like.. "Man... out of like 200 people he figured one instrument was out of tune by half a step? wth?"

and God's like that as well, if your out of tune he can hear it. You can't hide it from his ears.

Its hard i know. I've struggled with this really bad, and i've only just began to get myself back into tune.

But this lead to something I want to do in the future.

"The Orchaestra of Hearts"

The Vision: To gather all the Youth and Young adults of ECC's to one place, to tune them back to God's frequency and to perform for God a beautiful Orchaestra of hearts.
